The World Health Organization (WHO) and The Center for Disease Control (CDC) have identified the Zika virus outbreak as a worldwide concern. Businesses and organizations in affected areas, travelers, and high risk individuals are urged to take precautions to help slow the spread of the virus. In the interest of public safety, and in order to assist organizations and their workforce in the education and prevention of the virus, OpenSesame is distributing Ed4Online’s Zika Virus Prevention Course online free of charge.

“Our customers are understandably concerned about the health and well being of their employees,” said Don Spear, CEO of OpenSesame. “Disseminating information quickly and broadly will help prevent the spread of Zika and benefits everyone. We are happy that we can help by providing this free public safety information to everyone who wants it.”

Ed4Online’s Zika Virus course, distributed by OpenSesame, discusses the discovery, transmission, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, risks, and prevention of the virus. The goal of the course is to help educate the general population to reduce the infection rate and minimize Zika’s impact as a public health emergency.

Healthcare workers, professional service providers, and organizations with staff in or traveling to affected areas should enroll in the 30-minute online class and take precautions to slow the spread of the virus.

The online course is recommended for use on desktops and laptops and is instantly accessible online. Organizations can invite entire groups of employees or load the course directly into their Learning Management System (LMS) for their internal distribution. In addition, individuals can take the course directly from the OpenSesame site.
