The September 13-16, 2011 event in Chicago offered real world building solutions for the commercial building industry and was structured to offer practical, every day knowledge through education and interaction with manufacturers.

CSI and CSC have announced the 2011 updates to MasterFormat®, the tool used to organize construction documents for commercial, industrial, and institutional building projects in the United States and Canada.

CSI and CSC have released a 2010 edition of UniFormat, a method of arranging construction information based on functional elements, or parts of a facility characterized by their functions, without regard to the materials and methods used to accomplish them.

The increased attendance numbers are attributed to the strong education program, CSI Convention participation, and the prominent exhibitors on the show floor.

The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) has announced that Dennis J. Hall, FCSI, CCS, CCCA, FAIA, SCIP, will assume presidency of the organization on July 1.
