AlliedBarton Recognized For Employee Training Efforts

AlliedBarton Security Services, provider of trained security personnel, has received an ASTD BEST Award. This award from the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) recognizes organizational commitment to employee learning.

Organizations from Hong Kong, India, and the United States received an ASTD BEST Award. ASTD is the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. Through an online application, the 2008 BEST Awards received entries from organizations in seven countries. These organizations submitted quantitative and qualitative information to ASTD about their learning and development practices and programs.

The ASTD BEST Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee learning and development. According to Tony Bingham, ASTD’s president and CEO, “The BEST Award winners set the standard for exceptional learning and performance. They excel at aligning learning with business needs, demonstrating business impact, and providing a broad range of learning opportunities for employees. And, senior leaders in BEST organizations provide deep support for learning and model leaders as teachers.”

“Learning and development are at the core of AlliedBarton’s culture and this award is an important symbol of our commitment to helping our employees learn and grow,” said Jim Gillece, AlliedBarton chief people officer and senior vice president of human capital management. “We are proud to not only take the lead on training in our industry but to also be held to the high standards of an organization such as ASTD and compete against companies in many industries around the world.”

“This award was received at the cusp of an exciting time for AlliedBarton,” Gillece added. “Our training community and our entire Human Capital Management group are preparing for the launch of exciting new initiatives for 2009 that will take AlliedBarton to an even higher level training excellence.”
