New Product Flash: Tork EasyCube From SCA

SCA, the producer of the Tork brand of Away-from-Home professional hygiene products, introduces an intelligent restroom maintenance system that employs Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Tork EasyCube offers real-time restroom traffic and usage data—ultimately helping facility management departments reduce the number of restroom complaints (and the potential for lawsuits).FE-NPFlogo

Via connection to the web, the Tork EasyCube Intelligent Restroom System tracks real-time restroom traffic and usage insights. To accomplish this, the company’s Tork Elevation dispensers (toilet paper, towels, and soap) are equipped with sensors that provide real-time information from each unit. (Sensors have expected battery life of five years.)

Facilities staff can check the status of restroom supplies using mobile devices. This allows managers and staff to know what supplies are needed where.

EasyCubeAnd Tork EasyCube analysis tools enable facility executives and their staff to apply insights from long-term patterns to plan for the future. For instance, this solution enables cleaning crews to migrate from static cleaning schedules to cleaning restrooms when and where it’s actually needed. With Tork EasyCube, cleaners are better prepared before rounds, while managers can use the generated data to plan and schedule restroom servicing or make better purchase and inventory management decisions.

To develop Tork EasyCube, SCA collaborated with facility managers and cleaning companies throughout Europe and North America for testing and feedback. “During our trial period, almost all reports regarding empty dispensers disappeared. We only had one report in six months,” said Kati Barklund, innovation manager at Coor Service Management Group in Sweden and Tork EasyCube user.
