Lutron Electronics Launches Commercial Lighting Control Website

The interactive video site from Lutron is designed to provide the architectural, design, construction, and building management industries with a single source of information about using EcoSystem in commercial facilities. The multimedia site provides educational and tactical information on lighting control systems, daylighting, and products that can be immediately applied to commercial building projects.

To promote the launch, Lutron is offering site visitors a lighting energy analysis at no charge. By offering a lighting energy analysis, Lutron is underscoring the importance of sustainable design and positioning EcoSystem as an energy-saving solution for commercial projects. Featuring Lutron’s award-winning EcoSystem™ fluorescent dimming solution, LightingEcoSystem.com features three virtual tours: What is EcoSystem? How Does EcoSystem Work? and What Makes EcoSystem So Valuable? Visitors will find information on how a lighting control system works; what the products and technologies are that make up an effective lighting control system; and why lighting control is a financially important decision for the project. Users choose their own path for obtaining the most pertinent information for their role in the commercial building project.

LightingEcoSystem.com features virtual tour guides and navigation controls for maneuvering around the various sections of the site. A product index allows users to click on icons of the various components of the system for immediate access to more detailed product information and specs. In addition, visitors experience EcoSystem in action through a simulated 24-hour office lighting environment, demonstrating the features and benefits of strategies like daylight harvesting, occupant sensing, and manual and personal control.

“With energy-efficiency and stricter building codes and guidelines shaping the industry around high-performance design, we realized the need to arm professionals with a greater understanding of the role that lighting controls play in commercial building projects,” said Rick Schuett with Lutron Electronics. “This new website provides visitors with extensive information in an easy-to-understand interactive tour.”

For facility managers and contractors, LightingEcoSystem.com offers a comprehensive and detailed technical explanation of how EcoSystem works, including an overview of the lighting control technologies used to create an EcoSystem solution, as well as how the solution is installed and configured.

The site also provides architects, engineers and building owners with information that demonstrates the financial incentives for incorporating lighting control in their building plans. Specifically, LightingEcoSystem.com illustrates the value of the system financially and strategically to the long-term life of the project by showing energy- and cost-savings related to the overall facility.

“LightingEcoSystem.com now makes it possible for professionals to learn, understand and explore a commercial lighting control system in one convenient, comprehensive site,” said Ken Walma, product manager with Lutron Electronics. “And beyond that, professionals can use the site as a selling tool to help their clients better understand the energy-saving benefits and financial advantages of incorporating lighting control in their facility.”

After completing a virtual tour through the site, visitors have the opportunity to request a lighting energy analysis at no charge or to submit an AutoCAD or PDF file of a room or facility. Lutron will send a reflected ceiling plan (RCP) proposal at no charge illustrating how EcoSystem could be designed into the space, the expected energy savings and the forecasted return on investment.
