Subsidized Training on Indoor Air Quality/Mold

With the recent court rulings in favor of tenants, the Environmental Education Foundation (EEF) is pleased to announce a subsidy of $200 for its December 13th & 14th online class, “Moisture Intrusion and Mold Management” (Registrations must be received by December 8th, 2006; that’s one week from today.) This new training for property managers, developers, owners, and other professionals was developed under contract from the EPA and meets insurance underwriting criteria for a “Loss Control” program.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a contract to EEF to form a coalition of major players in the building design/construction and property management industry, including insurance and financial institutions. The purpose of the contract, according to David Mudarri, Ph.D., indoor environments division of the EPA, “[is] to promote EPA’s indoor air quality guidance and encourage its use as the basis for managing indoor environmental quality risks.”

EEF is proud to announce the completion of this contract and the availability of the related training program. Building on the success of its water intrusion and mold management program, the EEF has integrated EPA’s IAQ Building Education and Assessment Model (I-BEAM) software into the program.

This class is approved for continuing education for professionals ranging from property managers, building inspectors, and safety professionals to environmental consultants and insurance/financial professionals.

A limited number of subsidized seats exist for this instructor led, online training. Interested participants should sign up via the following link for the subsidy of $200. Total payment for registrants be reduced from $495 to $295.

This class is delivered as a live, instructor led Web seminar. It runs from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on two consecutive days.

This class highlights O&M (operations & maintenance) Plan Development. This intensive six to eight hour class presented over two consecutive days is an interactive, instructor-led program designed to give attendees an overview of the major environmental, health, and safety issues relating to general industry as well as cover the overall consequences of water intrusion and moisture on mold, mold growth, and related insurance claims

Topics include:
Introduction to mold identification
Comprehensive risk reduction
Water intrusion and early response
Preventive measures
Standard of care

Each participant will also receive one year membership in the EEF as an RIAQM-Registered Indoor Air Quality Manager, automatic updates for one year, the 200+ page course book COMPLETE with a customizable Operations and Maintenance (O&M) plan, and a copy of the EPA’s I-BEAM software.

This training is a must for any individuals seeking more information on the latest techniques in risk reduction related to IAQ, mold, and water intrusion. If you have any questions or issues that need resolution, you’ll be able to ask them during this live online training program.
