Rubbermaid settles suit with Chickasaw Broom Manufacturing and Little Rock Broom Works

Rubbermaid Commercial Products announced it has reached a settlement of its patent infringement lawsuit against Chickasaw Broom Manufacturing and Little Rock Broom Works, both located in Little Rock, AR.

In a lawsuit filed in 2006 in a Virginia federal court, Rubbermaid accused Chickasaw Broom and Little Rock Broom of infringing Rubbermaid’s United States patents relating to commercial cleaning equipment. Under the terms of the settlement, Chickasaw Broom and Little Rock Broom will cease selling the products which were at issue in the lawsuit and have agreed to pay Rubbermaid an undisclosed settlement amount.

“We are pleased with the conclusion of this matter, which is only one of many efforts currently pending or anticipated,” said Bob Kibbe, vice president of Rubbermaid Commercial Products based in Winchester, VA. “As a global leader of innovation in commercial and consumer products, Rubbermaid is embarking on a renewed effort to enforce its intellectual property rights, and will diligently pursue claims to protect its proprietary designs and technology.”
