Question Of The Week: Asset Management Solution

Asset Management In Educational Settings

Posted by Heidi Schwartz

This week’s question comes from the Facilities Management Group on LinkedIn.

TFM's Question of the Week logo. I am trying to set up an asset tracking software solution. We are a 501c3 educational institution, and so far I have found WaspBarcode, Panda Asset, Xasset, and a few others. Basically, we want to be able to track our larger value items like IT items, vehicles, and office furniture. We are interested in being able to track depreciation and funding sources as we receive funding through several grants.

Right now I am leaning towards WaspBarcode, because it allows us to create barcodes and scan items, as well as check items in and out and track maintenance costs. Has anyone had any experience with any asset management solutions? What are your recommendations?
