Allegion, a provider of safety and security solutions, recently introduced its ENGAGE™ Technology, a new connectivity platform for access control. FE-NPFlogo

The company’s Schlage® NDE Series wireless locks are the first locking platform to use ENGAGE Technology and are designed to be easy to install, connect, manage, and use. The NDE Series opens the door to a new level of intelligence with optimal visibility and control at each opening. From their mobile devices, facility managers have the ability to see who has access where and when. And this new technology facilitates the migration from mechanical hardware to a credential-based electronic solution.

With ENGAGE Technology, facility managers have access to a platform with cloud-based web and mobile applications that make it simple to manage and configure the NDE Series locks. “For basic capabilities, the mobile application is used to manage locks, add and delete credentials, and view lock history from anywhere,” said Brad Aikin, business leader for electronic locks at Allegion. “For more advanced capabilities—such as user and lock schedules, detailed audit reports, or required real-time monitoring—the NDE Series can be managed using the ENGAGE Gateway with one of our access control alliance partner systems. In these types of applications, the alliance partner’s system is used to enroll credentials, define access privileges, and manage schedules.”Schlage NDE lock with ENGAGE technology

ENGAGE technology aims to make it more affordable to use electronic locks and credentials for interior offices, common areas, and sensitive spaces. Systems featuring the technology can be customized to facility size and budget and will adapt as organizational needs change. Additionally, the NDE Series is compatible with most proximity and smart cards, including aptiQ™ and aptiQmobile™ credentials.

The ENGAGE mobile application (available on the App store and Google Play) is compatible with Android and Apple devices.
