Safety Zone Sheet by Armstrong Commercial Flooring is a slip-retardant sheet that offers both enhanced traction and easy cleaning. It provides a through-pattern construction in a dense, de-aerated formulation for safety underfoot and durable wear and stain resistance in high traffic conditions. An embossed surface offers improved maintenance.
From the bottom up, Safety Zone Sheet is constructed of textured cellulose backing; a fiberglass layer; a through-pattern wear layer; and an exclusive textured, particle enhanced surface. The dynamic safety activates when compressed to supply sure-grip texture underfoot in dry areas where extra traction is needed, like locker rooms and food service counters.
The through-pattern wear layer of Safety Zone Sheet incorporates aluminum oxide and quartz particles, which provide its slip-retardant performance that will not wear off. The surface layer has embedded silicon carbide particles that are activated when the floor is walked on for additional initial grab when applying walking pressure.
Safety Zone Sheet comes in a select color palette with various light reflectivity options. It coordinates with Armstrong Homogeneous, Heterogeneous, and Linoleum sheet products and is packaged in roll lengths up to 66′ and in 6’7″ widths.
Safety Zone Tile is also available and offers a modular 12″ x 12″ option for slip-retardant safety flooring. Like Safety Zone Sheet, it features a through-pattern wear layer construction. The embossed surface is embedded with proprietary particles for slip-retardant performance and Armstrong’s exclusive Fast Start® Factory Finish protects the tile surface during installation. Safety Zone Tile enables modular designs with combinations of colors and spot-color accents that coordinate with Excelon® VCT. Safety Zone Tile is suitable for adding an extra measure of safety in areas where traditional maintenance protocols using polish are followed.
