Sikafloor Metallic FX by Sika Flooring is a decorative, self-leveling flooring system for use in environments that include education, retail, and healthcare. Based on Sikafloor 216 and Sika Metallic Powder, it delivers multi-dimensional pearlescent designs to public areas such as lobbies and museums.
Sikafloor 216 is a two component, transparent epoxy resin primarily designed for high build coatings, decorative quartz, and decorative flake applications. Low odor, low viscous, and 100% solids, it may be used as a primer and applied clear or pigmented with brush, roller, or squeegee using Sikafloor Epoxy Color Additives. Sikafloor 216 creates a tough, smooth, non-porous surface that is easy to clean and provides good chemical, mechanical, impact, and abrasion resistance. Optional integral cove base and curbs can be installed without seams and joints.
Sika Metallic Powders are special effect pigments composed of mica nanoparticles coated with various organic and inorganic pigments to create pearlescent and iridescent effects. The field blended Metallic Powder makes Metallic FX customizable and adaptable to a facility’s distinctive décor.
Sikafloor Metallic FX is available in a palette of 44 colors (e.g., Coral, Daydream, Seaweed, Maui, Banana, Rum, Ginger) in smooth, matte, or gloss finishes and customized textures. The flooring system is low maintenance with low VOC content and natural odor.
Other Sikafloor products can be used in conjunction with Sika Metallic Powder. Sikafloor® 225N would replace Sikafloor 216 for increased UV resistance. Sikafloor® 510 and 510 LPL would replace Sikafloor 216 for increased UV resistance, increased chemical resistance, and rapid turnaround.
Sikafloor 510 is a polyaspartic resin system. Solvent free, it does not support the growth of bacteria or fungus and meets USDA requirements for incidental food contact. Sikafloor 510 LPL is a polyaspartic urethane coating system with an extended working time and usable Pot-Life when compared to Sikafloor 510, especially in elevated temperatures and humid conditions. It can be used as a concrete primer, binder, and sealer especially when fast cure times and UV resistance are required. Both resist a wide range of organic and inorganic acids, alkalis, amines, salts, and solvents.
