52 Watt Explosion Proof LED Light Fixture

The EPL-LP-24-LED by Larson Electronics is a Class 1 Division 1 and 2, Class 2 Division 1 and 2 low profile explosion proof LED. This light fixture provides a powerful and energy efficient alternative to traditional hazardous location luminaires. LED technology and a lightweight, compact design make this lamp a replacement upgrade option for heavier, older fixtures.

explosion proof ledThe EPL-LP-24-LED produces 6,760 lumens while drawing 52 watts. It features a 5000K color temperature, a CRI of 75, an efficacy of 130 lm/W, and a 60,000-hour rated lifespan with 80% lumen retention at the 60,000-hour mark. 3000K warm white and 4500K natural white color temperatures are optional.

Instead of using diffused glass, optics, or reflectors to distribute the light, the boards within the EPL-LP-24-LED provide a wide area light without sacrificing quality or output. Two offset LED assemblies within the fixture allow this explosion proof LED to provide a 100° horizontal beam spread and 140° vertical beam spread.

The EPL-LP-24-LED has a copper free aluminum alloy body powder-coated for added durability and aesthetics. The LED assembly is protected behind a tempered borosilicate glass tube that is protected by an aluminum wire guard to prevent accidental damage to the light fixture. The EPL-LP-24-LED is IP67 rated, dust-proof, and safeguarded against high-pressure jets and temporary submersion. The housing is specially designed to dissipate heat, which increases the efficiency and lifespan of the LEDs and electronics.

Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied and emit light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and they provide instant illumination when powered on. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions.

The EPL-LP-24-LED is universal voltage capable and can be operated with 100-277 VAC, 50/60Hz. A low voltage version that operates on voltages from 11-25 volts AC/DC is also offered. Pendant or surface mounting options are available and the fixture measures 30″ L x 5″ W x 3″ H. The overall height with adjustable surface mount bracket is less than 4½”.

The EPL-LP-24-LED explosion proof LED light has a T5 temperature rating and carries paint spray booth, ATEX, and IECEx certifications with an operating temperature range of-58°F to 149°F. It is suitable for applications with little space where low profile fixtures are required as well as oil rigs, offshore applications, petrochemical, manufacturing, chemical storage, water treatment centers, and food processing plants where flammable gases, vapors, or dusts exist or stand the potential to exist.
