The H4 Edge Solution (ES) Camera line by Avigilon Corporation is an all-in-one intelligent surveillance solution with flexibility and versatility. It combines high-definition imaging, self-learning video analytics, network video recorder (NVR) functionality, and embedded Avigilon Control Center™ video management software.
As an Internet of Things device, the H4 Edge acts as both a camera and out-of-the-box video management software platform. It records video directly to an on-board solid-state drive (SSD), eliminating the need for a separate NVR and reducing installation and system costs.
The H4 Edge Solution includes one to three megapixel models; up to 256 GB on-board SSD; up to 30 days of video retention; self-learning video analytics; Wi-Fi camera configuration support; and triple exposure ultra wide dynamic range. In addition, factory pre-configured image preset modes allow for maximum image performance in a variety of lighting conditions.
LightCatcher™ technology provides image quality in low light environments, idle scene mode lowers the bandwidth and storage usage if there are no motion events detected in the scene; and integrated IR (Infrared) LEDs provide uniform illumination in the dark, even at 0 lux, up to a maximum of 230′ away. Advanced video pattern-based algorithms are able to recognize the movements and characteristics of people and vehicles while ignoring any activity that isn’t relevant to a scene. Teach by example technology allows users to provide feedback about the accuracy of alarms to refine the device’s self-learning capabilities. As a result, these sharper, smarter technologies provide greater accuracy and fewer false alarms.
The H4 Edge Solution also offers proprietary High Definition Stream Management (HDSM™) technology. HDSM reduces server-client bandwidth requirements and makes optimal use of client computing resources, enabling greater scalability and increased camera resolution. It stores video information on the server as small packets and simultaneously separates the video into multiple useable segments: lower resolution and smaller size streams for situational awareness, and much larger streams for full image detail. HDSM then intelligently manages these streams based on what the user is viewing.
The H4 Edge Solution Camera line includes bullet cameras, indoor/outdoor surface mount dome cameras, and indoor/outdoor pendant mount dome cameras. Deployment options range from standalone installation, multi-camera solutions, to seamless integration into a conventional network video surveillance system.
