TRP LBU10-P Emergency Driver

A cost-effective emergency backup solution for LED luminaires

The LBU10-P from Thomas Research Products is an Emergency Driver. This backup solution for LED luminaires will provide a constant 10 watts of emergency lighting for at least 90 minutes. Distinct from other battery packs, this ensures a constant illumination level during the entire emergency egress time.

emergency driverThe LBU10-P is a universal input (120-277V, 60Hz)) emergency LED battery pack that works with an AC LED driver to allow an LED lighting load to be used in both normal and emergency operation. When normal AC power is lost, the LBU10-P operates to provide 10 watts of constant emergency power at a rated output voltage of 20Vdc to 56Vdc. The constant power design provides backup for a minimum of 90 minutes with no loss of emergency lumen output. When power is restored, the unit automatically returns to charging mode. When used with emergency-only LED fixtures, no AC driver is needed.

The LBU10-P consists of a compact case constructed of a PVC thermoplastic. The unit contains a solid-state charger with automatic transfer circuit, a two-wire test switch and LED charging indicator light, and a high-temperature, Nickel-Cadmium battery. Battery life is seven to 10 years. Recharge time is 24 hours maximum.

The UL924 Classification allows for both field and factory installations of suitable LED loads, including LED luminaires, DC voltage driven LED replacements for fluorescent lamps, and others. The unit is also suitable for sealed and gasketed fixtures. The damp location rated emergency driver provides Class 2 output and is designed to meet California’s Title 20 energy efficiency requirements.

The LBU10-P is for use with normally-on, normally-off, or switched fixtures. A remote test switch accessory that can fit in a single-gang box is also available. The emergency driver features an electronic AC lockout and low voltage disconnect (LVD) circuit and an operating temperature of 32°F to 131°F. It weighs 109 pounds and is supported by a standard five year warranty.
