ASSA ABLOY announced the integration of its Aperio™ wireless lock technology with all editions of Tyco Security Products’ Kantech EntraPass Security Software 7.0 for an affordable way to bring the flexibility of wireless locks to almost any door or opening in a facility. This includes doors, cabinets, drawers, and server racks.
Aperio technology is a global wireless platform that allows users to expand their access control footprint. Through the integration with Kantech EntraPass Software, ASSA ABLOY Aperio wireless locks can now be added to the EntraPass eco-system. They can be managed from the EntraPass interface for an expanded security management experience, controlling core functions such as managing events, reporting, and integrated mapping.
Aperio wireless lock technology offers the same real-time communication as traditional access control without having to wire the door. It utilizes local wireless communication (IEEE 802.15.4) between the lock and an Aperio hub to connect to an online electronic access control system. This simplifies installation and reduces costs.
Aperio wireless lock technology features real-time door status monitoring and AES 128-bit encryption. In addition, it supports HID® 125 kHz proximity or 13.56 MHz iCLASS® (full authentication, all formats) credentials.
The EntraPass software suite allows users to design and operate any number of doors where card access is required. It is compatible with Kantech’s entire line of door controllers and comes in three editions.
EntraPass Special Edition is security software for a single workstation. It controls two doors with KT-1, up to 128 doors with KT-100/KT-300, and up to 256 doors with KT-400 door controllers. The software is comprehensive and menu-driven. Administrators can define or modify parameters such as schedules or access levels. They can also generate reports and activate controlled devices (e.g., locking/ unlocking doors or activating relays for lighting or air conditioning). In addition, EntraPass offers full integration with Exacq video management systems, American Dynamics DVRs/NVRs (VideoEdge, HDVR, ADTVR, and Intellex), and DSC PowerSeries and MAXSYS intrusion alarm panels.
EntraPass Corporate Edition is a multiple workstation software platform. It offers a balance between power and affordability in a network environment. In addition, the software has the flexibility to securely connect controllers directly on the network, as well as over RS-485. EntraPass is compatible with Kantech IP devices such as KT-400/ KT-1 controllers and Kantech IP Link (KT-IP). They all utilize 128-bit AES encryption to ensure communication is not compromised. The software integrates security features such as the EntraPass Go mobile app and the EntraPass Web platform. These deliver remote access to common access control, video, and intrusion tasks and reporting.
EntraPass Global Edition is a network-ready enterprise level security management software. It accommodates widely-dispersed applications with an unlimited number of users. Further, it controls thousands of doors and allows users to simultaneously access the system from up to 128 workstations connected to the network. A redundant server and gateway enhance fault tolerance and ensure the system is always running. Global Edition software also integrates advanced security features such as EntraPass Go mobile app and EntraPass Web (remote user platform).
