BRUTUS® by Polaris® Industries Inc. is a work utility vehicle. It is a 24 horsepower, side by side commercial UTV (utility task vehicle) with a diesel engine braking system (EBS) and hydrostatic transmission. Options include all-season climate control and front attachments—the BRUTUS® Materials Bucket, Grapple, Pallet Forks, Snow Blade, Finishing Mower, Angle Broom, Snow Blower, Landplane, and Cargo Box Utility Spreader.
The 2016 BRUTUS UTV models introduce new enhancements and attachments that deliver more productivity, versatility, and comfort. With BRUTUS, users can lift, grab, grade, scoop, sweep, blow, mow, plow, and plane; one machine can do the job of several typical work vehicles, with less effort.
The redesigned ergonomic joystick has an integrated toggle feature. Users can raise, lower, tilt, and move power takeoff (PTO) attachments without taking their hands off the joystick. The new joystick is standard on 2016 models and the upgrade kit is compatible with all earlier model BRUTUS HDPTO vehicles.
The new BRUTUS Landplane allows for grading, leveling, and aerating soil with a no-shifting-required Treadle Pedal. Compatible with the BRUTUS HD and HDPTO, this joystick-controlled attachment breaks up and smooths out rugged terrain, then levels out the soil with a back drag. An optional scarifier kit helps breaks up hard, compacted ground for better leveling, while a screen kit allows the operator to carry and sift material. The landplane can also double as a sod peeler or aerator, or be used to transport materials around the worksite.
The updated BRUTUS Snow Blower has a two-stage design and a hydraulic chute rotator that is controlled from inside the cab. An extreme-duty cogged belt drive with automatic tensioner provides smooth operation and reduces the need for drive maintenance. The snow blower has a cutting width of 62″, an overall width of 64″, a cutting height (blower on ground) of 21″, and weighs 404 pounds. It comes with adjustable and replaceable skid shoes and is compatible with the BRUTUS HDPTO as well as the BRUTUS HD when a PTO Upgrade Kit (2879680; sold separately) is purchased.
