Chemetal Presents Waterworld

Waterworld textures provide embossed water effect designs that can be great for feature walls, counter fronts, and ceiling panels.

WaterworldChemetal introduces the Waterwold collection. Chemetal’s embossed Waterworld designs create expansive interior spaces, capturing and refracting light in a softer, more abstract way. These on-trend metal textures are ideal for feature walls, backgrounds, counter fronts, and ceiling panels in all kinds of commercial spaces.

Waterworld is made in-house by Chemetal, where the “water” design is pressed into thin sheets of anodized aluminum. The standard, popular finishes are polished, mirrorlike, and satin metals in clear, brass, and black. Still, Waterworld is possible on over 35 solid metal designs in the company’s massive collection.

Benefits for design professionals. Offering Waterworld on aluminum benefits the design community in several ways. First, it’s significantly more affordable than stainless steel. Second, aluminum is a softer metal that can be easily fabricated by design professionals than stainless, which requires metal cutting and bending equipment.

Metal in Flux. The company also offers Flux, a similar metal design on an HPL backer, for those more comfortable working with HPL. These 4′ x 8′ sheets are available in Flux, a clear polished design, and Flux Smoked, a darker, reflective polished metal.

Chemetal and Sustainability. Aluminum, which composes many Chemetal designs, including Waterworld, is one of the most recycled materials on the planet. Metal designs and laminates from Chemetal are part of the mindful MATERIALS library, which allows us to share product transparency information in an organized format. Additionally, Chemetal materials contribute to LEED in several areas, and many are part of Red List Free, with HPDs (Health Product Declarations) available. Chemetal is dedicated to providing designers with sustainable materials and information about them to help create greener buildings.

The company also supplies a significant percentage of its energy needs with a large 1000-panel, 400 kW solar array on the rooftop of its 70,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Western Massachusetts.
