Two International Code Council events have been announced to advance code knowledge, learn about the changes in the 2006 International Codes, prepare facility professionals for transition from the Uniform Codes to the I-Codes, and help them understand accessibility requirements.
Building safety and fire prevention professionals can improve their skills at the 2006 International Code Council Codes Forum, March 20-22, in Sacramento, CA. With more than 30 code-related courses, Codes Forum attendees can brush up on special topics from means of egress to hazardous materials to sprinkler plan review. The Codes Forum also includes special ICC chapter-sponsored California Building Code Courses from the California Building Officials and the Sacramento Valley Association of Building Officials.
A separate event at the same location is the Design Professional Institute, March 21-22. At the Institute, learn how to design code compliant projects specific to accessibility and usability, means of egress, wind loads, materials, fire resistance and fire protection requirements in the 2006 IBC.
At both the Design Professional Institute and Codes Forum, participants can earn continuing education units (CEUs) and American Institute of Architects learning units (LUs).
