As the national development boom impacts local construction projects, a critical need is emerging for more skilled laborers, according to Industry People Group, an online career services provider for construction-related industries. According to the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, Labor Market Statistics, construction laborers currently have the second highest number of job vacancies in the state. The study also cites that in Sarasota County, six of the top 50 occupations with the most job vacancies were in a construction-related field.
