In April 2019, Davies Office received the 2019 Supply Chain Sustainability Excellence Award from Con Edison. Evelyn Davies, president of Davies Office, accepted the award, which recognizes the efforts the company provides in supporting Con Edison’s supply chain sustainability program. Based in Albany, NY and founded in 1948, Davies Office is a leader in green remanufacturing and an expert in sustainable workplace solutions.
Con Edison, the second largest solar energy producer in North America, is focused on integrating sustainability into all of its programs and policies. As part of this effort, they look to work with supply chain partners that will contribute to their sustainability program. In its work, Davies Office helps organizations achieve their sustainability goals by offering eco-friendly, remanufactured office furniture that not only protects the planet but also helps reduce costs.
Con Edison has utilized Davies Office unique Sustainable Exchange and Banking program to provide value and creative reuse of its surplus furniture assets. Davies Office has been focused on sustainability for the last 40 years. By reusing existing assets and extending the life cycle of office furniture, the Davies Office remanufacturing process significantly reduces impact on the environment.
“We are proud of our company’s 40-year commitment to creating opportunities for minority-owned and women-owned businesses, as well as our commitment to environmental stewardship,” says Michael Jones-Bey, director supplier diversity & sustainability for the company. “These initiatives help Con Edison enhance safety, improve the environment, and cultivate economic growth within the communities we serve.”
“It’s a great honor to be recognized by Con Edison. It’s truly a collaborative partnership that allows sustainability practices to be successful. We are very excited to see companies take on women-owned and sustainability goals and reward partners that support their important mission,” Davies says.
