Ergonomics pocket primer

Humantech has published Ergonomics for Managers and Supervisors, the first in a planned series of ergonomics pocket primers. This 134-page pocket-sized spiral bound reference book, developed by Humantech’s experienced ergonomists, provides industrial managers and supervisors with the basic knowledge and skills to improve workplace ergonomic conditions and practices.

For TFM‘s coverage of this subject, see “Ergonomics Know How” from the archives.

“Supervisors and managers of people and processes have the influence and responsibility to improve both the safety of the work environment and safe work practices,” says Walt Rostykus, CPE, CIH, CSP, vice president of Humantech. “This pocket primer was developed to help managers and supervisors understand their role in improving ergonomics, and methods for creating, influencing, and maintaining a world-class work environment for their employees.”

The pocket primer includes information and methods to identify ergonomic issues, guidelines for adjusting and designing a safer work environment, encourage safe work behaviors, and correctly respond to employee reports of discomfort or potential injuries. When applied, these methods will help reduce injuries and illnesses and the associated costs, improve employee comfort, and increase productivity. The easy-to-follow format includes action items, checklists, tips, and a glossary.

Ergonomics for Managers and Supervisors is available for $15.95, including ground shipping within the continental United States. Discounts offered on bulk purchases make the publication an even more affordable and accessible resource. Additional titles are planned for publication later this year.
