iLab Solutions has opened its fifth annual Core Facility Management Benchmarking Study. The study aims to bring information on trends in growth and management to the eyes of research administration.
“Since the inception of the study, we have seen how the industry has evolved,” stated Heather Lorenz, iLab VP, Business Development. “In an environment where federal and state governments are demanding more from universities but with fewer resources, it is crucial for administrators to understand where there are challenges as well as best practices and processes that are shaping the core facility community.”
Two hundred forty core managers and directors participated in last year’s study. Collectively, they represented more than 40 different core types from over 75 institutions across North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.
Included on the list were core facilities, recharge centers, and shared resources from leading universities, research hospitals, independent institutes, and government labs. Past studies have been referenced at core facility management conferences, on research industry listservs, and in biomedical journals.
The results of the study will be published on iLab’s website in summer 2015.To participate in this year’s study, all core facility, recharge center, and shared resource managers and directors are asked to go to the following link. Previous year’s studies are also available on the iLab Solutions site.
