Can you guess what event is celebrated just one day after World FM Day (June 23, 2011)? If you said Take Your Dog To Work Day, (TYDTWD) you’d be absolutely correct.
Yes indeed, June 24, 2011 is Take Your Dog To Work Day, which comes right on the heels (pun intended) of a global celebration of the facility management profession.
But facility management professionals may be wondering, are there safety implications or possible OSHA violations to consider (not to mention possible legal issues, should a scuffle break out between canines)?
Of course, it will be up to facility managers to save the day once again. Naturally, that department will be left to clean up the mess over the weekend, post celebration. Perhaps it is fitting to butter up the facility manager before unleashing the hounds around the office.

First celebrated in 1999, this annual event asks pet lovers to celebrate the humane-canine bond and promote pet adoption by encouraging their employers to support TYDTW Day by opening their workplace to employees’ four-legged friends on this one special day. On Friday June 24, 2011 businesses, animal shelters, and pet care professionals from around the world will work together to better the lives of shelter dogs everywhere through the promotion of pet adoption.
