FRIDAY FUNNY: October 23 is Punch Your Co-Worker Day!!

October 23rd is officially Punch Your Irritating Co-Workers Holiday. Do you have a co-worker who talks nonstop about nothing, working your last nerve with tedious and boring details that you don’t care about? Do you have a co-worker who ALWAYS screws up stuff creating MORE work for you? Do you have a co-worker who kisses so much booty, you can look in his or her mouth and see what your boss had for lunch? Do you have a co-worker who is SOOO obnoxious, when he/she enters a room, everyone else clears it?

Well, on behalf of Ike Turner, I am so very very glad to officially announce PUNCH YOUR IRRITATING CO-WORKER DAY! Here are the rules you must follow:

  • You can only hit one person per hour – no more.
  • You can punch the same person again if s/he irritates you again in the same day.
  • You are allowed to hold someone down as other co-workers take their turns punching the irritant.
  • No weapons are allowed…other than going upside somebody’s head with a stapler or a hole-puncher.
  • If questioned by a supervisor [or police, if the supervisor is the irritant], you are allowed to LIE, LIE, LIE!

Now, study the rules, break out your list of folks who you want to punch the living day lights out of, and get to it…..and have a great day!

DISCLAIMER: this is only a joke. FacilityBlog has very strict rules about physical violence and does not encourage any slapping, punching, kicking, or even whacking with staplers or hole punches. Anyone who takes this seriously, is gonna get a punch….

Many thanks to Cathy (one of my co-workers) for submitting this Friday Funny.

  1. Loosen even…comments like that remind me of the tools on FOX News last week with balloon boy and having him write a letter of apology to all the rescue workers for the “hoax”. Like this JOKE, maybe some people actually do need this being punched.

  2. Actually, I stand corrected. The video is not staged, according to Snopes. Apparently, John’s comment at 12:02 pm is correct. Here’s the link:

However real the video is, it is not an endorsement of this fictitious “Punch your Co-Worker Day” concept. Apologies to anyone who was offended, but I am one of those who laughed at the content of the post, which was meant as a joke.

  3. You know, there is ALWAYS one friggin cry baby that has to comment. It’s meant as a joke Alan, loose up and take a stool softener…

  4. Hi,

People need to relax, I thought it was hilarious and laghed outloud thinking.. if only. Its obviously staged, and, important as political correctness is, too often we can go too far over the top with it. A joke is a joke, laughter is healthy, anger and disgust ain’t.

  5. These jokes do tend to push the limit but people remember, these are meant to be jokes. Looks like the video was lifted from outside of a courtroom. Guessing the woman that threw the punch was not pleased with the outcome of the case. No, violence is not funny, not something we support, but we all fantasize about slapping the snot out of someone from time to time. It’s just we have restraint.

  6. Is this supposed to be funny? Joking about workplace violence? I like a laugh as much as the next guy, but this is inappropriate for a business publication.
