Created in partnership with the U.S. CDC and operated by the Center for Active Design (CfAD), Fitwel healthy building certification system focuses on evidence-based strategies to promote health and wellness through the built environment.
The Center for Active Design (CfAD), with QuadReal, offers report with evidence-based guidelines for improved health and wellness at industrial sites. CfAD also unveils Commercial and Industrial Site scorecard for Fitwel certification.
With participation from leaders in the industry, this healthy building certification has launched a pilot program to gather and share best practices for these communities.
Five leading real estate companies commit to prototyping the module, informed by a Fitwel Academic Advisory Group comprised of health experts from world-renowned institutions.
Fitwel measures the health impact of a building based on how it promotes occupant safety, how it increases physical activity, and how it affects the health of the surrounding community.
Initial focus is to expand the Center's Fitwel Certification System in China, while providing facility and building professionals more access to products that foster healthy buildings.
