Madico, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of Lintec USA Holdings, Inc., announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to market The Total Window Solution™, a new daylighting/solar control film solution for windows, with SerraLux, a global daylighting technology company with offices in the U.S. and Europe. The Total Window Solution brings together SerraGlaze® Daylight Redirecting Film from SerraLux with Madico’s signature solar control window film products. Together, the two materials manage light at the window interface to improve facility occupant comfort while significantly reducing total building energy costs.
Madico window films can keep out up to 86% of the sun’s heat, dramatically lowering air conditioning costs for a facility. In the winter, the same film helps retain interior heat, reducing heating costs. Madico films also help regulate the temperature disparity between the sunny and the shady areas of a building. The films also keep out glare from the sun, which causes eye fatigue and can lower productivity.
For the Total Window Solution, Madico window films are paired with SerraGlaze Daylight Redirecting Film, a single acrylic film applied to the interior surface of the window. SerraGlaze contains micro-structured “louvers” that convert glare into beneficial illumination by redirecting the incoming daylight upwards to the ceiling; with the ceiling becomes a natural light fixture spreading full-spectrum natural daylight throughout the space.
