MM1018 from Stronghold Coatings is a polymeric metal material on-site repair product. It provides 100% force fit gap compensation for the repair of process equipment and structures, as well as railways, steel bridges, power plants and utility construction projects, offshore drilling rigs, wind turbines, and other demanding high-load, critical environments.
MM1018 provides 100% volume restoration inside the gap between bearing and construction without mechanical machining of back plate and faceplate. This high performance repair product combines high compressive and shear strength, excellent vibration damping, and long-term corrosion protection in extreme service conditions (vibration, temperature extremes, etc.), and is resistant to weathering and aging, as well as gasoline, oils, coolants, acids, lye, and more.
MM018 is easily applied on-site, even at great heights, using casting or injection. It distributes evenly in all directions. This allows for quicker repairs and cost savings versus conventional disassembly/rebuild methods. The repair product delivers high dimensional stability with insignificant shrinkage.
MM1018 was originally developed in Germany for the repair of steel and steel composite bridges—applications where materials are subject to the highest loads and stresses. It is also suited for use in corrosive saltwater environments like canal water gates and is electrically non-conductive. For utility construction projects, gaps between ledges, faceplates, and diagonal trusses have been successfully compensated using MM 1018. Because MM1018 is an injectable material, repair is completed in place.
The shelf life of MM1018 is at least 12 months and it comes in 2.2 pound and 11.02 pound packages. Larger packages are available upon request.
