NetBotz™ 250 from Schneider Electric offers simplified data center security, combining environmental monitoring and rack access control into a single piece of equipment. It is a scalable rack access control and environmental monitoring appliance that proactively monitors critical IT assets in real-time, protecting against physical threats, environmental risks, or human error that can disrupt IT operations and reduce reliability.
NetBotz 250 can be used for IT deployments of varying applications, including environment monitoring only, rack access only, or a combination of both. Its advanced feature set and modernized user experience offers native support for NetBotz connected wireless temperature and humidity sensors for flexible deployment, while supporting additional wired sensors such as spot fluid, vibration, and smoke detection. These capabilities enable immediate detection of common environmental hazards, preventing outages and allowing for rapid response action to minimize downtime.
NetBotz 250 is compatible with APC racks and StruxureWare™ Data Center Expert, seamlessly integrating into an existing install base for efficient deployment, configuration, and management to start protecting IT equipment within minutes. Integration with StruxureWare Data Center Expert provides centralized monitoring and management of the physical infrastructure and connected, networked devices to reduce energy consumption, protect system uptime, and improve planning and operational performance.
Rack access control functionality is available in two handle kits, at 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz reader frequencies, and restricts rack access to only credentialed users. Configured alerts and outputs such as beacon alarms can be set up to notify IT staff in the event of a breach for further data center security. NetBotz 250 supports up to 47 wireless, connected sensors per appliance with full audit trails for regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOX, PCI DSS).
NetBotz 250 environmental monitoring works in five steps
1. A high temperature is reported
2. The NetBotz 250 sends detailed alerts to configured users
3. The onboard switched outlet turns on the roof fan to remove excess heat.
4. The NetBotz 250 turns off the roof fan when sufficiently cooled.
5. Normal operation is resumed.
NetBotz 250 access control works in five steps:
1. Remove existing handles from rack.
2. Replace with rack access control handles
3. Restrict rack access to credentialed users at specified times.
4. Maintain records of all users accessing the rack.
5. Configure alerts and outputs such as a beacon alarm in the event of breach.
