New Product Flash: Plug Load Controller From Enlighted

Designed to reduce wasted energy, this device works with sensors in the Enlighted System to transform outlets into smart receptacles.

Enlighted, Inc., a provider of an advanced digital sensor and analytics platform to further smart building evolution, has introduced its new Plug Load Controller, designed to reduce unnecessary outlet energy use in facilities through intelligent control. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 30% to 50% of U.S. commercial building electricity consumption can be attributed to plug loads.FE-NPFlogo

“General office and miscellaneous equipment like computers, monitors, printers, projectors, and TVs consume unnecessary energy when not in use,” said Neeraj Purandare, VP product management, Enlighted. “A recent physical survey of 11 office buildings in San Francisco and Washington DC identified that only 44 percent of computers, 32 percent of monitors, and 25 percent of printers were turned off after working hours.1 Our new Plug Load Controller reduces this wasted energy use.”

The Plug Load Controller works with sensors in the Enlighted System to transform outlets into smart receptacles controlled through occupancy or schedule-based on/off control. “As companies continue to work towards net zero goals, Enlighted provides a networked system that maximizes energy savings beyond lighting alone,” said Purandare. “With the new Plug Load Controller, we deliver an energy efficient solution that addresses the continued increase in outlet energy usage in commercial environments.”

Controller Works With Enlighted Energy Manager System
The Plug Load Controller is easily configurable with the Enlighted Energy Manager to provide advanced data on outlet energy consumption, carbon reduction, energy and financial savings, and helps achieve Title 24 compliance in California.enlighted_plug_load

The company’s Energy Manager provides the data analysis for all data harvested by the Enlighted Advanced Sensors. In addition to being the collection point for the energy, occupancy and environmental data captured by the sensors, the Energy Manager provides a web-based user interface for lighting system management, and optimizing building system performance. It also facilitates integration with third-party building automation and demand response systems.

The latest Energy Manager 3.4 software update provides added support for Enlighted’s new Plug Load Controller, allowing for managing controlled power outlets.
