Steel Web Stoppers from Safety Technology International (STI) incorporate a patented web-like octagon shape that simulates a spider’s web to protect smoke detectors where abuse is severe. These are constructed of 9-gauge steel wire with a corrosion resistant polyester coating or 9-gauge stainless steel wire. Together, they cover virtually every smoke detector model available today.
These wire guards protect smoke detectors from vandalism and accidental damage and may be spray painted once prior to installation to match decor.
Steel Web Stopper cages can be installed easily with anchors and screws for flush or surface mount applications and allow the LED indicator on the shielded smoke detectors to remain clearly visible. For added protection against abuse, tamper resistant hardware is available.
STI guarantees the guards for three years against breakage in normal use. Steel Web Stoppers are UL Listed and CSFM, and MEA Approved. Thirteen smoke detector guard models and sizes are available along with a variety of additional wire guards for motion detectors, emergency lights, clocks, and more.
