QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What To Do If Someone Has The Flu?

When an important employee appears to be coming down with flu-like symptoms, what can—and SHOULD—facility managers do?

This Question of the Week comes from the Facilities Management Group on LinkedIn.

It’s cold and flu season, so what do you do when a critically important employee displays symptoms? Do you:

  1. Send the person home?
  2. Suggest a cold remedy?
  3. Tell him/her to quit whining?
  4. Let the employee make his/her own decision to behave like an adult?
  5. Get HR involved?
  6. None of the above/some other option
