HOSPECO® Scensibles® are universal receptacle liners for the disposal of menstrual care products. Part of HOSPECO’S complete complementary air care system, they improve upon the old method of wax-lined paper bags.
Odor in women’s restrooms can stem from the way disposal of menstrual care products is handled. The enclosed waste bins found in the stalls, regardless of whether they are overflowing with discarded product or merely harboring its content, are a breeding ground for bacteria that foul the air and create an unpleasant environment.
A clean and fresh-smelling restroom depends on abating odor-causing bacterial growth by properly lining waste receptacles to cover inside surfaces and to conceal menstrual care waste.
Wax-lined paper bags fit loosely and therefore often collapse into the bin. When this happens, discarded menstrual care products never make it into the bag and instead contaminate the inside of the receptacle. Receptacles are difficult to clean and sanitize, so the result is a buildup of odor.
Scensibles are made of a sturdy yet lightweight, puncture-resistant clear poly that makes it easy to identify any sharps. Every Scensibles product has built-in antimicrobial agents that inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria and are lightly scented for freshness. Scensibles liners stretch to fit snugly and overlap the top of the receptacle, just like the trash can in a kitchen, so cleaning staff does not have to reach hands into the receptacle to remove the liner and its contents. Scensibles liners contain the waste every time, without contaminating the receptacle.
Scensibles receptacle liners are available in three sizes for the right fit—regardless of who manufactured the bin. The largest option is the SecureFit360® liner (13″ x 14″) with a 6″ handle that wraps around the perimeter of the receptacle, securing the bag in place so it won’t slide down. This also forms a convenient tie-off handle at trash-collection time, allowing for easier removal from the receptacle. This liner fits most standard wall-mounted receptacles in the market. Other sizes include 9.5″ x 3.5″ x 12″ and 10″ x 4″ x 12″ (both without handles).
In addition, the company’s Scensibles® SBX50 personal disposal bags are single-use, high-density polypropylene and presented inside the stall, so patrons can place used items in the bags, tie the 4″ tie handles to lock in contaminated waste and odor, and dispose of the bagged waste properly in fitted Scensibles liners. These single-use poly disposal bags (3.375″ x 9.75″ x 2″) are available for discarding individual sanitary pads, tampons, panty liners, and wipes. Scensibles’ tie handles help completely contain (or conceal) waste to further reduce unpleasant odors.
If the receptacle does not provide a pocket for these personal disposal bags, a Scensibles dispenser is available in white, satin chrome, or stainless steel. The dispenser holds 50 Scensibles personal disposal bags and can be affixed to the receptacle, stall wall, or menstrual care product dispenser.
