The SEM Model 0205 EMD (electronic media destroyer) from Security Engineered Machinery destroys SSD (solid state drive) media containing devices to waste particles of 30mm2 or less and meets DIN 66399 Standard E-4. Destruction is accomplished through patent pending destruction shafts with pyramidal shaped elements where media is passed through to ensure complete media obliteration.
Electronic media as well as the data carrying SSD’s are crushed between two rotating shafts and fall into a collection container for simplified, hands free collection of waste material. The waste collection bin measures 16″H x 18″W x 16″D. Items that can be destroyed in the Model 0205 EMD include solid state boards, cell phones, thumb drives, and entire SSD drives with boards included. The electronic media destroyer produces end waste that meets DIN standard E-4 when destroying entire SSD systems, including phones and tablets with the boards included, and DIN standard E-3 when destroying only the SSD board.

The Model 0205 EMD is designed as a compact, self-contained destruction system with all components housed within a custom cabinet for maximum sound, odor, and dust control. The unit has a 1HP motor and may be plugged into a standard 110V outlet with a 20 amp plug. The LCD touch screen operator interface allows easy viewing and control of all machine functions. The Model 0205 EMD features an interlocked feeding system that ensures proper metering of media through the system, reducing potential jams.
The Model 0205 EMD destruction capacity is dependent on the media being destroyed. It features a waste bin full/door open indicator with auto stop; energy savings mode that shuts off power when not in use; auto-sync dual voltage (110/120V-60Hz and/or 220- 240V-50Hz); and a throughput capacity of one item every 10 seconds. Optional European power cords are available.
The drive feed process for Model 0205 EMD is manual with a 6″ x .700″ feed opening. The electronic media destroyer measures 32″ x 20″ x 18″, weighs 170 pounds, and can be mounted on casters for easy relocation. It is TAA compliant and comes with a one year warranty on parts and 90 day warranty on labor.
