Series 696 Harsh Environment Connector

New Protective Hose Fitting Adds Extra Protection to this Binder Series

Binder USA, LP recently released the Series 696 HEC (Harsh Environment Connector) panel mount connector. It features a new protective hose fitting that shields cable and single wires against external influences, including UV exposure, extreme temperatures, and air pollutants, as well as shock and vibration. This can be retrofitted on existing binder Series 696 HEC connectors or purchased as a complete connecting component.harsh environment connector

This harsh environment connector was developed specifically for use in challenging environments. A three-point bayonet locking mechanism and a lightweight plastic design ensures that the connectors are highly resistant against climatic conditions, chemical substances, and other industrial hazards. The crimp contacts ensure a secure, vibration-proof contact. Series 696 HEC is IP68- and IPX9K-rated, providing further protection from temporary immersion in water and high-pressure washdowns.

Available in five pin, eight pin, and 12 pin versions, the Series 696 HEC is designed to go places that most connectors cannot. Primary industries include agricultural, building machines, as well as traffic and signaling technology. Other harsh environments may include environmental and process engineering such as purification and recycling plants.

Contact arrangement of the Series 696 HEC is a hybrid 4x signal and 3+PE power configuration with a variety of cable cross-sections. Signal contacts are rated at 3 amps each and rated 60V overall. Power contacts are rated 25 amps each and have an overall rating of 400V. VDE and UL approval assures easy integration with new application designs.
