SL Green Realty Corp. has been honored with the 2016 REME Award for Workplace Environment – Sustainability by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). The award celebrates an innovative sustainability program within the workplace or across a portfolio.
SL Green, an S&P 500 company and New York City’s largest office landlord, is a fully integrated real estate investment trust (REIT). The company earned the award for a transformative sustainability program that optimizes operational efficiency, results in substantial energy savings, and fosters meaningful employee engagement. In concert with its tenant VIACOM, SL Green implemented an energy efficiency retrofit at its global headquarters, resulting in energy reduction of 15%.
SL Green’s REME Award was accepted by Evin Epstein, Sustainability Administrator, at IREM’s Fall Conference in San Diego, CA.
