Speakman Emergency Tank Shower

The SE-8000 solves the dilemma of safety in facilities without water

The Gravityflo® Emergency Tank Shower SE-8000 from Speakman Company is the newest addition to the Gravityflo® Emergency Shower and Eyewash product line. This safety product is designed with an insulated 528-gallon (2,000 liter) polyethylene tank to solve the dilemma regarding compliance with safety standards on a site with no running water or inadequate water pressure.tank shower

Speakman’s President, Bob Knoll, said, “Some facilities present unique worker safety challenges should the site be without plumbed water, even temporarily. Speakman is in the business of creating safety solutions for unique environments. The Gravityflo Emergency Tank Shower was a made-to-order solution for a customer. Thus, we have a new emergency product that can be specified for a variety of projects where access to running water is going to be a safety concern.”

Applications for the SE-8000 include job sites without running water and environments where water may be shut off temporarily. Additionally, this emergency tank shower is a suitable unit for older facilities or sites where the pipes cannot produce the 20 gpm flow requirement.

The Gravityflo Emergency Tank Shower is not dependent on a plumbed water source and operates on 240 volts, single phase, 50/60Hz, and 13.88 amps. The shower’s support frame is constructed from 1½” x 1½” x 1/8″ hot dipped galvanized tubular steel, with fixed bolt down brackets. The showerhead is stainless steel and the 1½” NPT female stainless steel full flow ball valve is activated by a
yellow steel push bar. The shower features a mechanical water level gauge; a 1″ NPT water fill inlet, with valve and ball float for automatic
shutoff when the tank is full; a 1″ NPT water overflow outlet; a PIR sensor and area downlight; and universal emergency signage.

The SE-8000’s integrated emergency eyewash has a yellow plastic bowl; two yellow plastic spray outlets with flip-top dust caps; a ½” NPT female brass, chrome-plated, full flow stay-open ball valve; and a stainless steel push handle activator.

The Gravityflo Emergency Tank Shower SE-8000 provides heat tracing for shower and eyewash piping. A 3kw immersion heater maintains an approximate water
temperature of 86°F at an ambient temperature of 14°F, keeping it in the tepid range of 60°F to 100°F. Thermal cutoff shuts off electrical power to prevent overheating.

Options include a treadle plate activator for the main shower, a water collection bund, eyewash with stainless steel bowl, privacy screens for three sides, a stainless steel support frame, a digital water lever and water temperature gauge, and an alarm system for both the shower and eyewash.

The Gravityflo Emergency Tank Shower SE-8000 delivers the ANSI/ISEA-required 20 gpm flow rate with UL-approved electrical components and weighs 1, 598 pounds unfilled and 6,004 pounds filled. Each tank shower comes with a three year general mechanical warranty and a one year electrical equipment limited warranty and is built to order for each customer’s specific requirements.
