SRM-872 & Security Center 5.5 Transportation Safety

The integration of Hanwha Techwin's NVR with Genetec's unified security platform improves overall security in mobile environments.

The SRM-872 mobile NVR from Hanwha Techwin America now fully integrates with the Genetec™ Security Center 5.5 SR1 unified security platform for transportation safety. This new solution allows installation of the Hanwha NVR on trains, buses, and other modes of public transportation for a more secure environment.

transportation safetyThe SRM-872 mobile NVR records on the vehicle as well as on the archiver while connectivity is established. If the connectivity is lost while in transit or away from its station or depot, upon return to the home base, the NVR automatically reconnects, transfers, and inserts the recorded data on to the Genetec system for a time corrected playback.

Intended for mobile use, the SRM-872 for transportation safety comes with all certifications and approvals to meet the needs of school buses, police vehicles, trains, public buses, and more. This eight channel NVR features PoE to power all connected cameras and built-in VGA/HDMI out for HD monitor connection (full menu driven mouse support) and digital sign capabilities. It delivers high-quality HD recording with support for H.264 and MJPEG video and can record 64 Mbps throughput for up to eight cameras. A removable, heated hard drive and SD card slot provide hard drive backup.

The SRM-872 also offers GPS enabled tracking for recorded and live video data, driver status, panic box, remote control, built-in web server, G-Force sensor, and two-way audio communication. Options include M12 Back Panel and heat exchanger sleeve for polluted or dusty environments. An optional cellular Wi-Fi router can be added to enable real-time vehicle video access, location information, and emergency communications.

Security Center 5.5 helps organizations better monitor their sites while giving administrators greater control and visibility of their security infrastructure. It is a unified security platform that blends IP security systems within a single intuitive interface to simplify operations. From access control, video surveillance, and automatic license plate recognition to communications, intrusion, and analytics, Security Center empowers organization through enhanced situational awareness, unified command and control, and connectivity to the cloud.

This latest Security Center 5.5 release adds disaster recovery features, enhanced authentication and encryption, new hardware integrations, enhanced scalability, and more, all which can help improve transportation safety. The ability to configure multiple failover directories in geographically disparate locations ensures directory servers remain operational in the event of disasters. In addition, alarms can now be grouped and filtered to help remove some of the clutter caused by recurring, non-urgent alarms. Alarms can also be managed as a group with available actions including acknowledge/snooze/forward.

Map-centric monitoring provides enhanced, fluid map scaling for zooming in and out of anything from floor plans to satellite imagery—along with the option to geo-reference dynamic objects with actual geographic coordinates, and add new map layers. This layering allows operators to add or remove details from a map in real-time to narrow or broaden visualization of a site. For scenarios that require use of workstation memory, like complex maps with hundreds of dynamic entities, users now have the option to install the Security Desk client as a 64-bit client application.

Security Center 5.5 also offers simplified access to Security Center SDK (Software Development Kit) for custom development and interconnectivity. A new, freely-available Basic SDK package is used to connect to Security Center and access configuration information, events, and alarms in real-time, as well as make changes or add new tasks to the monitoring client app. A simplified online enrollment and acceptance process, that is largely automated, provides users with quick access. More advanced levels of integration are available through the Advanced SDK package.
