CRE leaders know their real estate can have very tangible, positive impacts on people, placemaking, and the community at large. As such, organizations are allocating increased investment to fit-out and design initiatives that improve employee engagement, diversity and well-being outcomes, and develop greater community engagement.
3.) Embrace intelligent technology. From robotic janitorial services to data-driven occupancy tracking and hybrid collaboration technology, advanced CRE tech tools stand ready to optimize facilities in the here and now.
But many organizations are currently missing out on the full opportunity. At this time, 59% of respondents capture or report real estate data either irregularly or intermittently, while just 13% collect data on a real-time basis with advanced analytics. Because of this, most aim to expand their toolbox of CRE tech solutions by 2025, with 55% planning to incorporate immersive technology and virtual reality, 52% anticipating a shift to smart contracts and 51% planning to use industrial robots for cleaning, maintenance or security.
Reducing Real Estate Costs, Investing In “Right” Workspace
4.) Expand your bench. Today’s leaders are being asked to rewrite the future of work. As real estate needs become more complex and sophisticated, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
But FMs are not alone. External partners can and are helping CRE teams augment their own capabilities, with 75% of respondents saying they anticipate deeper reliance on outside experts, especially those focused on health and well-being services, sustainability, and CRE tech.
Ushering In A New Era
Over the last three years, CRE leaders and FMs have risen valiantly to rapid change, responding to unprecedented tests with agility and grace. The next three years will spell new opportunity to pause, reassess and align what we’ve learned with what we aspire to provide for tomorrow’s workforce.
