Viking E-60-IP Series VoIP Entry Phones

The double gang mount security solution offers quick and reliable hands-free communication

The E-60-IP Series from Viking Electronics are compact, vandal resistant VoIP entry phones designed to provide quick and reliable hands-free communication for SIP VoIP phone systems with PoE. Suitable applications include gate entrances, parking ramps/lots, ATM machines, medical centers, lobbies, stadiums, and public access areas.VoIP entry phones

The E-60-IP Series can be programmed from any Touch Tone phone, PC, or remotely using a static IP address. When the button is pushed, the unit dials a programmed phone number and allows for two-way communication once a call is answered. The phone can cycle through up to five different programmed phone numbers if a busy signal is detected or there is no answer. When the called party answers, a touch tone command can trigger the entry phone’s 2 Amp on-board relay for door strike, magnetic lock, or gate motor control. A blue LED continually provides light for locating the push button in dark locations, flashes during dialing, and automatically lights again when the call is answered.

For added security, the E-60-IP can communicate with the optional RC-4A which provides remote relay control of that entrance. [The RC-4A is a Network Enabled Relay Controller that provides networked control of four relays via an easy-to-use web interface. The same interface can be used to check the status of four contact closure inputs. Relays can be toggled on or off, or activated for a length of time.]

“These double gang IP entry phones are a great solution for both residential and commercial applications, plus—there’s four different finishes to choose from,” said Allison Trapani, Marketing Design Coordinator, Viking Electronics, Inc.

The E-60-IP comes in Brushed Stainless Steel, Textured Black, Oil Rubbed Bronze, and Satin White finishes. The VoIP entry phones require only a CAT5E cable for connectivity and are PoE powered. All programming parameters, including phone numbers and location numbers, are stored in non-volatile memory, requiring no batteries.

The E-60-IP faceplate measures 4.875″ x 4.938″ x 0.17″ while the phone measures 2.84″ x 1.8″ x 1.65″. The compact size of the VoIP entry phones allows them to be flush mounted in standard double gang electrical boxes. Surface mount options are also available using Viking’s VE-5×5 Series Surface Mount Boxes. Operating temperature is -40°F to 140°F. For outdoor installations where the unit is exposed to precipitation or condensation, models with Enhanced Weather Protection (EWP) are available.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a technology that allows users to deliver voice and multimedia (videos, pictures) content using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a text-based signaling protocol used for initiating, maintaining, and terminating a multimedia session over the Internet Protocol. A session is a simple call between two endpoints. An endpoint can be a smartphone, a laptop, or any device that can receive and send multimedia content over the Internet. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology that lets network cables carry electrical power. It describes any of several standard or ad-hoc systems which pass electric power along with data on twisted pair Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electric power to devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones.
