WEIRD WEDNESDAY: Probably Not A First Date Place

A restaurant in the Ukraine provides an unusual ambiance for its patrons.

A restaurant in the Ukraine provides an unusual ambiance for its patrons.

Situated inside a 65 foot long coffin, the Eternity restaurant is owned and operated by two undertakers in the town of Truskavets.

The hopes are that the eatery will help to attract tourists to the region, which is known for mineral rich bathing waters.

The windowless exterior gives way to an (expectedly) dark interior; the decor inside features black walls and numerous wreaths.

Items on the menu continue the theme with salads named “Nine Day” and “Forty Day”, which references local mourning rituals. One of the more upbeat(?) dishes is “Let’s Meet In Paradise”.
