The 6000 Series from Yale® Commercial, an ASSA ABLOY Group company, has been expanded with a full range of electromechanical options. This ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 certified exit device now offers a total of 13 mechanical functions and 11 electromechanical functions.
The 6000 Series comes in rim, mortise, SquareBolt®, surface vertical rod, and concealed vertical rod configurations and is wide or narrow stile with clean lines. The SquareBolt option offers a latch bolt with greater latch engagement than standard rim devices. Credit cards, crowbars, door rattling, and shaking are resisted, reducing the threat of unauthorized entry.
The 6100(F) Series (wide style) is suitable for single swing doors or pairs of doors of metal, wood, or composite construction. It is available in both panic and fire rated versions. The 6200 Series (narrow stile) is suitable for single swing doors or pairs of doors of metal or aluminum and is panic rated.
New electromechanical options for the 6000 Series include electric latch retraction; electric dogging; alarm; and touch bar, trim, and latch bolt monitoring. These features allow the exit device to integrate into existing alarm or access control systems, providing upgraded security for office buildings, retail spaces, and mixed-use environments.
Electrified Latch Retraction (P) allows the latch bolt to be retracted electrically for momentary or maintained periods of time from a remote location. The exit device bolt remains retracted for as long as the device is energized. Removal of power returns the device to the life safety, self-latching mechanical mode. It allows free egress at all times and can interface with central or local fire alarm systems, automatic door operators, and access control systems.
Electric Dogging (G) provides continuous latch retraction and push pad dogging simultaneously for use in areas that require quiet door operation. When power is applied to the device, depressing the push pad will retract the latch bolt and continuously hold down the push pad in the unlock position for push/pull operation. Removal or interruption of power will release the push pad and the latch bolt will extend and secure the opening.
Touch Bar Monitor (B) provides indication of the push pad being depressed and is used as a Request to Exit switch to shunt alarm systems, release electromagnetic locks, or monitor egress. Trim Monitor Switch (O) provides indication of the trim being operated from the outside and is used as a Request to Enter signal switch to shunt alarms (also used to monitor entry). Latch Bolt Position Monitor (S) provides indication on the position of the latch bolt and is used with security systems to monitor the latch bolt and also to activate automatic door operators upon latch retractions.
The 6000 Series exit device offers smooth, quiet operation—roller bearings provide smooth operation of the touch bar while bumpers reduce noise when the pad is pushed to exit. A heavy-duty, angled flush end cap protects the rail, eliminating catch points and reducing damage.
The 6000 Series has a durable aluminum rail design with a touch bar in five finishes—Bright Brass, Clear Coated (605); Bright Stainless Steel (629); Dark Oxidized Satin Bronze – equivalent (613E); Satin Brass, Clear Coated (606); and Satin Stainless Steel (630). The trim is offered in seven finishes and more than 38 lever options help match décor—these can be standard (e.g., Arcadia AR, Carmel CR, Monroe MO) or Reflections® decorative levers (e.g., Hudson, Victoria, Niagara).
The 6000 Series electrified exit devices and trims are equipped with ElectroLynx® connectors. These “plug & play” connectors link power from the incoming source to electrified locking products, including hinges, locks, exit devices, magnetic holders, and strikes. Electrified door hardware with ElectoLynx connectors require a compatible number of lead wires attached to the door hinge.
Available with Microshield®, a silver-based antimicrobial coating, the 6000 Series and is warranted for 10 years.
