Demilec Inc., an Arlington, TX based manufacturer of spray foam insulation and polyurea products, recently insulated The CEA Grill with its new closed-cell spray system (ccSPF), formulated with Honeywell’s Solstice® Liquid Blowing Agent (LBA). The CEA Grill is a farm-to-fork experience restaurant located within CEA Farms, an urban farm in rural Virginia. Demilec’s new ccSPF product was added to the outside walls of the restaurant structure, as well as under the roof deck from the inside.
Noted Tom Fishback, technology vice president at Demilec, “We’re very confident in the new system’s field performance at CEA Farms’ restaurant, as it exceeded the expectations of our chemists in the lab. It’s a great sign for projects to come in the future where we can be a part of more environmental builds.”
The hydrofluoroolefin (HFO)-blown spray foam lowers greenhouse gas emissions. The new closed-cell spray foam system was designed to enhance the application process by requiring minimal temperature adjustments, reducing clogging of the spray gun, lowering odor, and providing better foam consistency for a smoother finish.
