Nora NFBIC Firebox Housings

NFBIC firebox housings have been redesigned to be smaller and lighter than previous models, and no longer have felt on the bottom of the frame.

Nora Lighting® introduced a redesigned series of two-hour fire-rated downlight housings that can be used in either LED dedicated or line voltage installations. The new specification-grade Nora NFBIC firebox housings are smaller and lighter than previous models, and no longer have felt on the bottom of the frame.

firebox housingsAll units are double-walled and incorporate non-combustible fiber insulation to prevent the passage of flames, toxic gases, and ignitable gasses into ceiling plenums. With 4″, 5″, and 6″ apertures, the housings are compatible with Nora’s LED retrofit and surface mount luminaires. The NFBIC Series also includes a new 4″ shallow housing, compatible with Nora’s 4″ Onyx LED retrofit fixtures. The shallow housing is 4-13/16″ tall and accommodates narrow plenums.

All housings are airtight; rated for a minimum of two hours protection; and meet strict safety codes for commercial, multi-family, and residential applications.

Available for incandescent, CFL, and LED sources, NFBIC enclosures are IC-rated and cULus listed for wet locations when used with compatible reflectors. They meet or exceed ASTM E283 airtight requirements, and the noncombustible fiberfill also acts as a sound canceling material, minimizing the transfer of sound between floors.

The NFBIC firebox housings accommodate a 1¾” maximum ceiling thickness and include 24 bar hangers that are ½” bar hangers with captive nails and alignment feet. Dimming is available.
