The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) has created a dedicated online Hurricane Response Center to aid members, their families, and other impacted by Hurricane Katrina. This action follows an earlier announcement that IREM®, through its IREM Foundation (a 501(c)(3) foundation), is soliciting tax-free donations from members and staff; 100% of all contributions collected will be channeled to ongoing hurricane relief efforts.
The main components of the IREM Hurricane Response Center are:
•A “check-in” list of members in the affected areas who have contacted IREM to let other members know their whereabouts and how they are faring;
•A section in which members can offer housing and jobs for those who are hurricane-impacted;
•A section where those who are hurricane impacted can indicate their need for housing, jobs, and other support services.
As well, the center contains links to other hurricane-related resources.
