While many facility managers are accutely aware of large scale disasters that bring operations to a halt, keep in mind that this week marks the 100th anniversary of the San Francisco earthquake. People who survived the experience told their children and grandchildren that they hoped nothing of the same caliber would impact their lives, but in reality, hope has very little to do with natural disasters. Sure, you can hope it doesn’t happen again, but the chances will always be there.
Coincidentally, disaster recovery and planning was the topic that got people talking yesterday at The TFM Show.
