Altronix NetWaySP2P Media Converter

The NetWaySP2P converts a single fiber cable into two 1Gb Ethernet ports providing PoE/PoE+ power to connected devices.

The NetWaySP2P 2-Port Media Converter/Injector from Altronix converts a single fiber cable (1000Base-X/SX/LX) into two 1Gb Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and provides PoE/PoE+ power to connected devices. This allows multiple IP devices to be deployed at greater distances utilizing fiber and reducing the need for additional cabling, equipment, and installation costs.media converter

“Altronix worked closely with installers when designing the new NetWaySP2P to help power multiple devices at remote installation sites,” said Alan Forman, President, Altronix Corporation. “Using fiber with copper or a single composite cable to connect two IP devices with power delivers extreme efficiencies on multiple levels.”

The NetWaySP2P provides up to 30 watts per port. Mounted in compact insulated housing, it features auto detection and protection of legacy non-PoE cameras/devices. These units can be powered locally or remotely using Altronix WayPoint562, NetWay1D, or NetWaySP4 rack series that provide 56VDC.

Available accessories for the NetWaySP2P unit include the Altronix P1MM and P1SM10 hot-pluggable SFP fiber transceiver modules which are compatible with all Altronix NetWay™ Spectrum products. The P1MM is to be used with Multi-Mode Fiber for distances up to 1,804¢ and the P1SM10 is to be used with Single-Mode Fiber for distances up to 6.21 miles.

As with all Altronix products, the NetWaySP2P is manufactured in the U.S.A. and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The media converter weighs .25 pounds and has a modular plastic enclosure that measures 3.8″W x 1″H x 3.38″D. Operating temperature is -40ºF to 158ºF.
