EnOcean now offers comprehensive wireless and self-powered LED controls for various open standards under the brand Easyfit. Easyfit products are self-powered switches and sensors that use wireless standards such as EnOcean, Zigbee, and Bluetooth Low Energy to make LED lighting solutions more energy efficient, more flexible, and lower in cost.
Easyfit lighting systems use the EnOcean radio standard, including self-powered sensors and switches, actuators, LED fixture controllers as well as a commissioning tool.
“LEDs are ideally complemented by controls to leverage further energy savings, enable personal control, and meet regulatory requirements,” said Troy Davis, Sales Director, EnOcean Inc. “Easyfit Controls coupled with LEDs allow energy managers to utilize room level or networked controls, even connecting the LEDs to existing Building Automation Systems, while working with significantly reduced installation time and costs. “Self-powered wireless solutions are extremely attractive as they eliminate the burden of down time and battery maintenance cost. EnOcean now enables product manufacturers and building professionals to unlock the full potential of LEDs with simple, easy to install, maintenance-free tools that offer personal control and energy conservation, based on energy harvesting technology.”
EnOcean wireless technology is optimized for ultra-low power communication, allowing for the self-powered sensors and switches. EnOcean’s Easyfit LED controls portfolio is based on the 902 MHz frequency, which delivers maximum point-to-point communication distances within buildings. These wireless control solutions can be added to existing buildings during an upgrade to LED lighting and enable sophisticated lighting control, including daylight harvesting and task tuning.
The complete LED control portfolio consists of LEDRU and LEDDU Fixture/Zone Controllers, self-powered, wireless light switches, occupancy and light level sensors as well as the Navigan™ remote commissioning software. These solutions enable simple configuration, intelligent local control, and seamless integration with building automation systems using the EnOcean wireless standard. Controls and Lighting manufacturers can also create EnOcean-enabled products by using the extensive line of Dolphin by EnOcean RF modules and EnOcean-enabled LED drivers.
These wireless and self-powered solutions help to make LED lighting solutions more energy-efficient and lower in cost therefore enabling lighting installers a fast and flexible installation.
Via the Navigan Software commissioning interface, settings such as thresholds, dimming levels, ramp speeds, task tuning, timers, or Title 24-compliant parameters can be changed wirelessly. Employing a Windows-based laptop equipped with the remote commissioning tool, an installer can locate wireless devices throughout the facility, logically connect the controller to switches and sensors, and configure settings in the controller over the air without physical access to the controllers.
EnOcean also offers wireless and self-powered LED controls for Bluetooth lighting control systems in 2.4 GHz. The Easyfit Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) switches are available in two different design versions—Easyfit US design (ESRPB/EDRPB) and Easyfit European design (EWSSB/EWSDB). The self-powered and wireless Easyfit switches with Near Field Communication (NFC) allow simple or complex lighting scenes and effects, and enable simple, flexible installation of lighting applications. The wireless Easyfit switches are maintenance-free due to no batteries, freely positionable, and allow flexible control as well as intuitive usage.
Easyfit BLE switches are supported by Casambi and Xicato offering self-powered lighting solutions for Bluetooth Low Energy systems in 2.4 GHz.
