FILCOTEN® from NDS®, Inc. is a high-performance, fiber-reinforced concrete trench drain system. It is used for the rapid evacuation of surface water or for the containment of utility lines or chemical spills on heavy commercial sites, such as airports, highways, rail stations, pedestrian road crossings, and industrial sites like factories, warehouses, and garages.
FILCOTEN can handle heavy loads (up to Class E) in pre-sloped and neutral configurations. Compared to similar products, it is stronger with a higher level of impact resistance that makes it less susceptible to cracking and breaking during transport and installation. FILCOTEN is also resistant to changes in temperature and exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
Manufactured without resins, FILCOTEN is non-flammable and rated A1 non-combustible. It is 100% recyclable with no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or heavy metal residue that can leach into the ground.
FILCOTEN offers a wide range of grates with a four point locking system to ensure secure connection and two anti-sliding lugs to eliminate lateral shifting. They are also compatible with the anti-vandalism locking device to prevent unwanted removal. FILCOTEN channels have a flat inner surface for better flow characteristics and a self-cleaning effect. Every channel body has a vertical outlet possibility. A sealant groove allows for waterproof installation. Anchoring ribs support the channel and increase the exposed surface area, providing for better adhesion to the surrounding concrete.
FILCOTEN trench drains are available in multiple sizes. Rail choices include stainless steel, cast iron, and galvanized steel. The FILCOTEN Tec 100 is a trench drain system with a 4″ inner dimension, the FILCOTEN Pro 200 has an 8″ inner dimension, and the Pro 300 has a 12″ inner dimension. Each has an integral galvanized steel rail. Grate variations for Tec and Pro include galvanized steel mesh grating, reinforced slotted galvanized steel, perforated galvanized steel, slot top galvanized steel, ductile iron slotted, ductile iron longitudinal, and honeycomb composite. Accessories include a catch basin, locking bar, rebar clips, front/end cap, and end cap with outlet.
