The Versatec Ultra Single Hydronic heat pump from WaterFurnace International Inc. is an upgrade to the commercial Envision NSW unit. It combines scroll compressors, R-410A refrigerant, and oversized heat exchangers to provide energy savings in commercial applications. All refrigerant brazing is performed in a nitrogen atmosphere.
Versatec Ultra units can be used for heating only, cooling only (field converted for chilled water applications), or heating/cooling. They feature an energy efficiency ratio of 14.0 to 17.5 and a coefficient of performance of 2.9 to 3.1. The unit’s wide range of operating temperatures, compact size, reversible control box, and piping enable the heat pump to be used in a variety of applications. These include pool/spa heating, radiant floor, snow melt, aquaculture, and process water installations.
All fault conditions are monitored by the Aurora base controls to ensure safe, reliable operation. The modular design of Aurora communicating controls allows for application flexibility and expandability while offering traditional safety sensors that include high/low pressure, condensate overflow, and freeze detection, both on the loop and load side. The heat pump also offers high-limit hot water generator pump shutdown. The control box is field movable from front to back for ease of application. Separate knockouts for low voltage, and two for power on, front, and back, offer easy access to the control box.
The 018H and 025H models are available with load side copper vented double wall coaxial heat exchangers. Coaxial heat exchangers, refrigerant suction lines, hot water generator, and all water pipes are fully insulated to reduce condensation problems in low temperature operation. All joints are leak detected for a maximum leak rate of less than ¼ ounce per year.
The Versatec Ultra Single Hydronic heat pump features a computer controlled deep vacuum and refrigerant charging system. The computer barcode equipped assembly line ensures all components are correct. All units are computer run-tested with water to verify both function and performance.
The Versatec Ultra Single Hydronic heat pump has a heavy gauge steel cabinet finished with a durable, corrosion resistant, polyester powder-coat paint rated for more than 1,000 hours of salt spray. Lift-out access panels provide access to the compressor section from two sides.
