It’s that time of year again, when Cintas Corporation begins its search for the best public restroom in America. If your facility is home to a beautiful, funky, creative, or simply spectacular bathroom, or you’ve discovered an impressive potty on your travels, it’s time to let the world know. Nominations for the 17th annual America’s Best Restroom® Contest are open now through July 9. The winner will receive $2,500 in facility services or restroom cleaning.
“For nearly two decades, we’ve found some of the most stunning, awe-inspiring, and quirky restrooms across the country. And we’re excited to begin the search once again,” said Sean Mulcahey, Marketing Manager, Cintas. “This contest recognizes businesses that put extra care, time and thought into their restrooms. The state of a restroom has the ability to turn customers away, or keep them coming back, so we want to highlight the importance of having and maintaining clean, innovative, and fun restrooms.”
Last year, the OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale, AZ won for its jaw-dropping design. Instead of a traditional mirror over the sinks, the aquarium’s restrooms include a gigantic acrylic window leading straight into Shark Waters – its largest exhibit.

“Most of our visitors come to experience marine life close-up, but our restrooms have quickly become another thrilling exhibit guests seek out,” said Dr. Amram Knishinsky, founder, OdySea Aquarium. “The national and local publicity we received through the contest was tremendous. Every day we have new customers coming in to check out the restrooms along with many returning customers as well.”
Ready to show off your own beautiful bathroom? Submit your nomination by July 9, 2018. Ten finalists will be announced in August of 2018, based on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality, and unique design elements.
